SEO stands for search engine optimisation. It describes the practise of improving your website so that you are more likely to end up on the search engine results page (SERP) when someone searches for your products or services online.

Search engines like Google, rank website pages based on a number of factors and it can take a bit of time to work out exactly what all of these factors are. Essentially, the search engine wants to deliver the best result for the searcher (your potential customer). This means they aim to show website results that are relevant to the search, authentic, popular, well written, recommended by others, and easy to navigate - to name a few factors.
